Adding Labor to a Work Order

1. From the Open work orders list, search for or find the work order you want to add labor to. Once you find the work order, simply click on the work order card to open the work order details window.
2. In the work order details window, click on the Operation under Job Details that you want to add labor to. Clicking on an Operation will by default open on the Labor tab of that operation.
New Labor Entry
3. If there are no labor entries against the operation, the list will be blank with some text saying that there is no labor captured against the operation yet. To add labor, click on the +Add button bottom right hand corner of the screen. This will open up the New Labor Entry window.
4. In the New Labor entry window, there are 4 fields namely;
4.1 Employee: This is the person for which labor is being recorded
4.2 Labor Date: This is the date that labor is being added for
4.3 Labor Hours: This is the number of labor hours being added
4.4 Notes: This is for any additional notes/ comments that should accompany the labor entry e.g. if you wanted to note the work performed etc.
Now let's look and step through each field individually.
4.1 Click on the Employee field. This will open up the employee look-up window/ list. You can search for yourself or the employee you are adding labor for by typing in the name/ employee code of the person or yourself in the search bar at the top of the screen. Once you find who you are looking for, simply click the Select option next to the person's name to add them to the labor entry.
4.2 In the Date selector, simply scroll up or down to find the date you are adding labor for
4.3 Next in the Labor hours field, click on this field to bring up the labor hours selection scroller. Simply scroll up on hours and minutes to specify the number of labor hours you are adding and hit Done on the scroller when you have the correct number.
4.4 Next click in the notes field, in this long text field you can add any additional notes/ comments for this labor entry. A text keyboard will come up, type in your notes/ comments and hit done on the keyboard to add the note/ comment.
5. When you're done with all the fields and you're happy hit the Add button top right hand corner of the window to add/ save this labor entry.
Please note that you cannot edit a labor entry once it has been added to the work order.
Clicking Add will navigate you back to the labor tab. You now need to commit the labor you added. Hit the SUBMIT button at the bottom of the labor tab window to submit and save your labor entry.
Add Labor to Existing Labor Entry
6. When labor already exists in the work order for you or someone that you need to add labor for you will see existing labor entries against the work order when you get to the labor tab. (See navigation section above). Below an example of the labor tab of an operation with existing labor entries captured:
7. In this scenario we'll add another labor entry to Keth's existing labor. To do this, simply click on the information icon next to the person's name. This will open up a window that shows all current labor entries for the selected person.
8. In the selected person's labor entries window, you will see all existing labor entries and submission dates. To add more labor to the selected person, simply click on the +Add labor button bottom right hand corner of the window.
9. In the new labor entry window, you will note that the person's name is already populated so all you need to do is specify the date for the labor entry, the labor hours and any additional notes/ comments for the labor entry. When done hit the Add button top right of the window to navigate back to the selected person's labor entries window.
Step 1: Scroll up or down to select the date that you are adding labor for.
Step 2: In this field specify the number of labor hours you are adding.
Step 3: Capture any additional notes/ comments against this labor entry here.
Note: It is not mandatory to capture notes/ comments against your labor entry.
Step 4: Once you have everything captured, click on the Add button top right corner of the window to navigate back to the selected person'
To add more labor entries for the selected person, on the same window simply click on the Add button bottom right of the window and follow steps 1 - 4 mentioned above. Continue doing this until you have added all labor associated with the selected person.
10. When you're done adding all labor entries. Click on the Back button top left corner of the window.
11. You'll note that the total for Keith has been updated on the labor tab. You now need to commit the labor. To do this hit the SUBMIT button at the bottom of the window of the labor tab. This will save and submit the labor added to the system.
Before committing labor, you can add labor for multiple people by following the steps above and only commit the labor when you're done.
